Collective Grief Collection
Small works on paper and canvas about grief, love and healing during pandemic times.
What is Collective Grief?
There are number of ways we can feel a sense of loss right now. The loss of a loved one may be the main catalyst for grief. There’s also the loss of human contact, freedom, control, protection, job and financial loss, the loss of a project, dreams or activity that was important to you, etc).
As Frank Ostaseski writes:
“The future is uncertain and there is a perceived loss of safety. We know that some of the losses are temporary but it doesn't feel that way. All of these reactions to loss are faces of grief.”
“There is something powerful about naming this collective experience GRIEF. It helps us feel and make meaning of what’s inside of us. When you name it, you feel it and it moves through you. Emotions need motion”.
